Measured, not guessed.
Athletes are tested before training starts and retested as they progress. Here is what that looks like.

Rafael's right leg.
Rafael's right leg had to be rebuilt after a knee injury. Strength and stability came first.
We tested it with a single-leg jump. His right leg went from 6.8 to 10.4 inches. That is higher than his left leg jumped when he started.
Before and after
Same tests, same protocol.
Jump heights in inches from our assessment system. A countermovement jump is a two-footed jump from standing. The single-leg jump is the same test on one leg, which is where side-to-side differences show up.

What they wanted, and what changed.
“I worked with Aaron all 4 years of high school. In that time, I increased my vertical jump by 12.5 inches (35″) and increased my speed on the track.”
Doug and Merideth didn't want more hitting reps for Kendall. They wanted her to get an edge by getting stronger overall and becoming a complete athlete. Her before-and-after numbers are above.
